Job Description
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to take ownership of our accounting function and play a key role in cleaning, structuring, and stabilizing our financial and inventory data.
One of the first and most critical responsibilities of this role will be to review and clean existing accounting and inventory records in order to streamline operations, improve reporting accuracy, and prepare the business for a future ERP implementation (Odoo).
This role goes beyond routine bookkeeping. You will be expected to perform all core accounting duties, work closely with a small internal team, and help build clear, reliable financial processes that management can trust.
Key Responsibilities
? Core Accounting Responsibilities
– Handle day-to-day accounting operations and bookkeeping
– Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
– Ensure full compliance with UAE VAT and tax regulations
– Prepare and submit VAT returns
– Manage reconciliations (bank, suppliers, customers)
– Coordinate payroll, WPS, and statutory requirements
– Support audits and regulatory reviews
? Data Clean-Up & Operational Structuring (Initial Priority)
Review and clean historical accounting data from existing systems
Identify and correct:
– Duplicate customers and suppliers
– Incorrect or inconsistent item names and codes
– Stock valuation issues and mismatches
– Improper use of chart of accounts
– Work closely with storekeepers, sales, and workshop teams to reconcile system data with actual operations
– Standardize accounting and inventory structures to support better reporting and control
– Help document improved accounting and inventory workflows
? ERP Readiness & Transition Support
– Prepare clean and structured data for future migration to Odoo
– Assist management in defining accounting and inventory workflows for the new system
– Validate opening balances, item masters, and historical data before migration
– Test transactions and reports after system changes
– Support user training and internal adoption when ERP implementation begins
– Work with external consultants if required during later phases
Minimum Work Experience
– 5–7 years experience in accounting roles
– Experience in trading, automotive, retail, or inventory-heavy businesses preferred
– Prior experience cleaning or restructuring accounting data is a strong advantage
Minimum Education Level
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
– Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CMA) are a plus but not mandatory if experience is strong
Skills Required
– Strong end-to-end accounting knowledge
– Inventory accounting and cost control
– Data clean-up, reconciliation, and structuring
– ERP systems experience (Odoo is a strong advantage)
– Knowledge of UAE VAT and tax rules
– High attention to detail and accuracy
– Ability to work cross-functionally with small teams
