Position Overview

The Demi Chef de Partie plays a key role in supporting the kitchen team in a high-volume industrial catering service setting. They are responsible for managing and preparing food in specific sections of the kitchen, ensuring quality, safety, and hygiene standards are met at all times. They assist in running an efficient kitchen environment while contributing to the successful delivery of large-scale meal services for clients in sectors such as corporate events, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, or large organizations.

Key Responsibilities :

Food Preparation & Cooking: o Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food in a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., hot kitchen, salad, desserts, or bakery).

o Follow recipes, portion controls, and company standards to prepare food in large quantities.

o Ensure consistency in the quality and taste of meals served. o Organize food production processes to meet timeframes and deadlines for meal service.

• Supervision & Support:

o Support the Chef de Partie in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the smooth flow of food production.

o Oversee junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support during food preparation.

o Step into the role of Chef de Partie in their absence, maintaining quality and productivity.

• Hygiene & Safety Compliance:

o Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper storage of food, cleaning of kitchen equipment, and ensuring a safe working environment.

o Ensure that all workstations are sanitized and meet regulatory food safety standards.

o Monitor kitchen and storage areas for cleanliness and maintenance issues.

• Inventory Management:

o Assist with managing stock levels, ensuring there is enough stock for production while minimizing waste.

o Report any stock shortages or issues to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.

o Ensure correct storage of ingredients to maintain freshness and avoid contamination.

• Team Collaboration & Communication:

o Work closely with other kitchen team members to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient workflow.

o Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure a smooth kitchen operation.

o Report any problems or issues to senior kitchen staff promptly.

• Training & Development:

o Participate in ongoing training to improve culinary skills and knowledge of catering operations. o Assist in the training and development of junior kitchen staff when required.
