Job Overview
The function of the Butcher is to achieve the successful operation of the Meat Department. His aim is to maximize sales and profit whilst maintaining contractual obligations, company policies and procedures and complying with all the legal requirements within Qatar.
A Butcher will also be Exposure to different environmental conditions such as cool and warm temperatures. (as low as -30OC and as high as 50OC).
Authorities and Responsibilities
The Butcher reports to, seeks advice from and consults with the Meat Supervisor or the Butchery Manager in his absence.
Provide highest level of prompt and friendly customer service and maintain a positive work environment.
Properly wrap, scale, and label product.
Follow, cut and trim all merchandise according to company standards and department plan.
Follow and enforce conformity to company recipes.
Inventory, ordering, and receiving.
Control department expenses.
Responsible for general housekeeping in the department and keeping a clean and sanitized work area (including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc ).
Follow and enforce “Clean As You Go” Program & “Fresh At 4” Program.
Follow program of maintenance on cases, cooler, freezer, and equipment.
Monitor temperatures within cooler, freezer, and cases on regular basis.
Rotate product and pay particular attention to code dates.
Maintain fresh and appealing appearance throughout the department
Knowledge of weekly ad items.
Give customer direction of product location throughout the store.
Abide by all company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook.
Other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Support the HMR section to and train the team in preparing sandwiches, both Arabic and European salads, as well as hot and cold sandwiches.

Any Arab National, Nepali
Any Graduation
Male
Completion of a 2- or 4-years related college degree. Accreditation with an independent professional body or license not required.
Minimum 4 years meat cutting experience.
Knowledge and understanding of gross margins and labor percentages.
Knowledge of “all natural” meat programs.
Exemplary customer service skills.
Ability to be Self-motivated, multitask and work in a fast paced environment
Dexterity in hands to wrap and package product.
Tolerance for stress- must be able to maintain stable performance and multi-tasking despite of pressure and willingness to work.
Planning and Organizing – ability to plan the work in accordance to department objectives and effectively organize his resources.
Resourcefulness – must show resourcefulness, self-reliance in planning and implementing project details.
Attentive to details – must be concerned with total task accomplishment through attention to all areas involved no matter how small.
Problem Analysis, Judgement and Decision Making – must have the skill in securing relevant information in relating data from different sources and identifying possible causes of problems through observation, questioning, review of reports and other sources and respond appropriately. Readiness to make decisions gives advice, render judgement and take action.
