Job Description
The Technical Purchase Assistant supports the procurement team in sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing technical products and services. This role requires a strong understanding of technical specifications, vendor communication, and purchasing processes to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement that meets organizational standards.
Assist in sourcing suppliers for technical goods and services.
Review and analyze technical specifications of materials, tools, or equipment.
Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers based on technical and commercial terms.
Coordinate with engineering/production teams to clarify product requirements.
Place purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor information.
Track orders and ensure timely delivery; follow up with vendors for order status.
Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
Resolve issues related to delayed deliveries, pricing discrepancies, or defective goods.
Support inventory management by coordinating with the store and logistics departments.
Stay updated on market trends and changes in supply/demand for technical materials.
