Job Description

Monitor and operate SWRO plant systems through SCADA, including intake, pre-treatment, RO units, post-treatment, and chemical dosing.
Respond to alarms and abnormal operating conditions promptly, escalating as necessary to the Control Room Supervisor.
Perform routine data logging and reporting for plant parameters, production output, and equipment performance.
Execute start-up, shutdown, and changeover procedures safely and efficiently as directed.
Coordinate with field operators and maintenance personnel to ensure timely response to operational issues or maintenance tasks.
Assist in system testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting using SCADA data and alarms.
Ensure compliance with plant safety standards and operational procedures.
Participate in shift handover communications and daily operations meetings.
Maintain a logbook of events, operational decisions, and interventions.
Provide operational support during emergency or upset conditions in line with contingency plans.
Contribute to process optimization and continuous improvement efforts.
Desired Candidate Profile

Diploma

Any

Technical Diploma or equivalent in Electrical, Instrumentation, Process Control, or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a SCADA operations role within the water sector, preferably in a SWRO or similar desalination plant.
Familiarity with water treatment processes and plant instrumentation/control systems.
Knowledge of PLC systems and automation logic is a plus.
Proficiency in using SCADA systems for real-time operations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to interpret P&IDs, control schematics, and data trends.
