Job Description

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the collections department, including hiring, training, and supervising staff.
Assess debtor creditworthiness, set appropriate credit limits, and ensure timely follow-up on overdue accounts.
Monitor aging reports, with special focus on bad debts and non-performing loans (NPLs), and develop proactive recovery strategies.
Implement effective collection policies, processes, and performance metrics to reduce delinquency.
Contact delinquent customers, negotiate repayment terms, and amend repayment schedules as needed.
Escalate unresolved cases, recommend legal action, and coordinate with legal authorities on settlements and litigation.
Maintain accurate documentation of all collection activities, communications, settlements, and charge-offs.
Ensure compliance with applicable collection laws and regulations.
Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on recovery performance and portfolio risks.
Mentor and motivate the collections team to meet targets, improve efficiency, and enhance recovery rates.
Collaborate with finance, sales, and external collection agencies to resolve disputes and optimize collections.
Desired Candidate Profile

Any Nationality

Bachelor of Business Administration

Any

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience: 5 to 15 years in credit control, collections, or debt recovery, with at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment, bad debt management, and NPL recovery strategies.
Hands-on experience in legal collection processes and liaising with external legal bodies.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
Proven track record of achieving collection targets and reducing delinquency.
Familiarity with collection laws and compliance standards (local & international).
Proficient in using MS Office and collection management software/tools.
