Job Description

Job Purpose:

To perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment in a district cooling plant, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability of chillers, pumps, cooling towers, piping systems, and other mechanical assets.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) on mechanical equipment including:
Chillers (Water Cooled)
Primary and secondary pumps
Cooling towers
Heat exchangers and valves
Motor couplings and mechanical seals
Troubleshoot and repair equipment failures and faults, including alignment, vibration issues, and seal replacements.
Carry out mechanical isolation, tagging, and permitting in accordance with safety protocols and LOTO procedures.
Monitor equipment condition and performance, report abnormalities to supervisors, and maintain accurate maintenance logs.
Support mechanical commissioning and testing activities for new equipment or plant upgrades.
Assist in implementing predictive maintenance programs using condition-monitoring tools (vibration analysis, thermography, etc.).
Follow company safety, quality, and environmental standards including ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain workshop tools and ensure the proper storage of spare parts and mechanical components.
Cooperate with electrical, control, and utility teams to ensure overall plant performance and efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:

Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Refrigeration trade.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in district cooling, HVAC, or utilities sectors.
Hands-on experience in overhauling centrifugal chillers and Pumps is an advantage.
Knowledge of mechanical drawings, P&IDs, alignment procedures, and safety systems.
Skills and Competencies:

Strong technical skills in mechanical systems maintenance and troubleshooting
Safety-conscious with a proactive attitude
Good communication and teamwork skills
Understanding of energy efficiency practices in cooling system

Ability to work in a shift-based operation and respond to emergency breakdowns when required.
Basic computer literacy (MS Office) and Familiarity with CMMS for tracking work order.
Work Environment:

District Cooling Plant (indoor/outdoor)
May require work at heights, in confined spaces, and in high-temperature environments
