Transfusion Medicine Consultant

Job Description

Provide diagnostic and consultative services to physicians and patients, adhering to the privileges granted within the Department of Blood Transfusion Medicine.
Contribute to educational initiatives by mentoring medical staff, including Medical Technology students, interns, residents, and laboratory staff, while actively participating in ongoing continuing education programs.
Serve on hospital and departmental committees related to blood transfusion, as assigned.
Assist in the development and implementation of new techniques, services, and processes to enhance departmental performance and patient care.
Actively engage in the Quality Improvement program, supporting initiatives to maintain and elevate service standards.

Desired Candidate Profile

Any European National, Any Anglophone National, American (US), Canadian

Doctor of Medicine (MD)(Blood Banking & Immuno. Haem, Pathology)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Graduate from a medical school of good standing.
Should have at least 4 years’ experience in senior position in relevant section of Clinical Laboratory in a 500+ beds hospital.
An Academic background is highly desirable.
Experience in CAP/AABBB accredited laboratory is highly desirable.
Completion of required period of training in blood bank/Transfusion medicine.
American /European Board Certification or equivalent.
Membership and/or Fellowship status in America and/or Europe or their equivalent and fulfilling the criteria for the consultant as required
A certificate recognized by the Saudi commission is a must.
Dataflow is a must.
Professional Experience

Min. 3-4 years Post Board/Fellowship in blood bank/Transfusion medicine.
A registered member of the Saudi Board Council
Language

Proficiency in English; additional proficiency in Arabic may be beneficial.
