Mainframe z/OS Engineer

Job Description

Install, upgrade, and customize IBM and ISV software products in a multi-system z/OS mainframe environmentImplement and maintain Sysplex environments.
Provide Automation SA/390 support.
Proficient in SMPE/MVS Proclib and Parmlib changes.
Skilled in performing PTF and APAR maintenance routines, including RSU maintenance.
Knowledge of USS management
Extensive experience with z/OS DB2 Datasharing, standalone, and Sysplex environments.
Support 24×7 on a rotating basis for problem resolution and to ensure high systems availability.
Utilize IBM and ISV online tools for opening and managing problem report tracking and resolution.
Actively participate in periodic Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises and maintain DR readiness of systems.
Monitor the status of systems to proactively prevent issues from occurring.
Configure hardware to meet organizational goals that support both IT and business objectives.

Proven experience as a z/OS Mainframe System Programmer.
Strong knowledge of ISV software tools and Automation SA/390.
Hands on experience in managing complex Sysplex environments.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Familiarity with IBM and ISV online tools for problem management.
Experience in Disaster Recovery planning and execution.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various IT teams.
Total experience: Above 8-10 years.
Relevant experience: Minimum of 6 years in z/OS systems administration.
