Job Description
1. Installation and Construction
Erect poles, towers, and structures for overhead transmission and distribution lines.
String, sag, and terminate conductors, earth wires, and OPGW cables as per design drawings and standards.
Install insulators, vibration dampers, spacer dampers, clamps, and other line accessories.
Assemble and install hardware fittings and line materials using approved tools and equipment.
2. Maintenance and Repair
Perform routine inspection and maintenance of OHL lines to detect defects, damages, or loose fittings.
Repair or replace damaged conductors, insulators, cross-arms, or hardware.
Ensure line clearances and phase-to-phase distances are maintained as per safety standards.
3. Safety and Compliance
Follow all electrical safety procedures and use appropriate PPE at all times.
Ensure work is carried out as per SEC (or client) safety regulations and company HSE policy.
Participate in toolbox talks and risk assessments before starting work.
4. Testing and Commissioning
Assist in line testing, continuity checks, and earthing verification.
Support commissioning activities and coordinate with testing engineers and supervisors.
5. Documentation and Reporting
Record daily work progress, material usage, and site observations.
Report defects, incidents, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately.
6. Teamwork and Communication
Work under the supervision of the Line Supervisor or Foreman.
Coordinate with riggers, equipment operators, and ground staff for efficient workflow.
