Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Reconciliation & Settlement Executive to manage daily reconciliation of transactions processed through multiple payment gateways and ensure accurate and timely settlements for our merchants. The ideal candidate must have strong accounting knowledge and advanced Excel expertise to analyze large datasets and maintain financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Payment Gateway Reconciliation
• Reconcile daily transactions across multiple payment gateways and internal systems.
• Identify mismatches, chargebacks, failed transactions, and pending payments.
• Coordinate with payment gateway partners to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of transaction flows and settlement cycles.

2. Merchant Settlement Management
• Prepare and process merchant settlement files as per agreed payout cycles.
• Ensure settlement amounts match transactional data after adjustments (refunds, fees, GST, chargebacks, etc.).
• Communicate with merchants regarding settlement queries and provide timely resolution.

3. Accounting & Reporting
• Assist in month-end closing activities related to transactions and settlements.
• Prepare reconciliation reports, settlement statements, and dashboards for internal teams.
• Support audits by providing required financial data and reconciliation logs.

4. Data Handling & Process Improvement
• Work extensively with large data sets in Excel for analysis and reconciliation.
• Automate repetitive tasks using advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Power Query, Macros, etc.).
• Suggest improvements to enhance reconciliation accuracy and streamline operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
• Must have advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Lookups, Power Query, Macros preferred).
• Experience working with payment gateways, banking systems, or fintech (preferred).
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to handle large volumes of data accurately.
• Good communication skills for coordination with merchants and internal teams.

Preferred Experience:
• 1–3 years of experience in reconciliation, settlements, accounts, or fintech operations.
• Experience with payment aggregators, PSPs, or financial institutions is a strong plus.
