Safety and Environment Officer

Job Description

Implement, monitor and enforce HSE policies and procedures across water treatment plant and network operations.
Ensure compliance with local, regional and international safety and environmental regulations and standards.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure that the plant and network meet HSE compliance requirements.
Preparing and submitting reports and documents necessary for regulatory compliance.
Identify potential safety and environmental hazards associated with operations, maintenance activities, and plant infrastructure.
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to reduce risks to employees, contractors, and the environment.
Organize and conduct regular HSE training programs, workshops, and trainings for plant staff and network personnel.
Promote safety awareness through posters, briefings, and team meetings.
Advise and guide employees on safe work practices, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe operation of equipment.
Lead investigations into any accidents, incidents, or near-accidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
Maintain accurate records of incidents and follow up to ensure corrective action is taken.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of incidents as required by regulatory bodies.
Monitor and evaluate environmental performance and ensure implementation of sustainable practices in line with environmental standards.
Oversee environmental monitoring activities and ensure appropriate action is taken to address any issues.
Maintain effective communication with management, regulatory bodies, and external parties regarding HSE performance.
Recommend improvements to HSE processes and systems to achieve greater efficiency and compliance.
Keep up to date with the latest changes in HSE regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
Required profile for candidates

Any nationality

Bachelor of Science (Any)

Minimum 5 years experience in HSE roles within Water Treatment, CCTV Inspection, Lining and Repair, Pumping Station, Drainage and Civil experience.
Approved by PWA.
Qualifications: (Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Safety Management, SO 45001, OSHA 90 hours, Driving License.
