Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Supervise the library learning center to ensure cleanliness, order and protection of library resources.

2. Develop and organize library inventory (e.g. books, collections, periodicals, multimedia, etc.)

3. Conduct periodic checks and updates on database information.

4. Publish and update content on the library website (such as book summaries, reviews, blog, etc.)

5. Research and implement new information system technologies.

6. Organizing promotional activities and events (such as children’s storytelling, author readings, book sales, etc.)

7. Experience in using computers and working with electronic databases.

8. Familiarity with information management systems

9. Respond to requests in person, by phone, or by email to answer questions and find information.

10. Teach a variety of skills to students, especially research skills.

11. Monitoring information management trends

12. Provide group instruction and individual guidance to students to help them find resources and use research techniques.

13. Consult with teachers on the appropriate use of materials and assist them in scheduling materials for classroom instruction.

14. Effective planning of school library program to meet specific needs

15. Management of acquisition, processing, organization, distribution, maintenance and inventory of resources

16. Create a library/media center environment that contributes to learning and is appropriate to the maturity level and interests of students.

17. Compile, maintain and archive all required physical and digital reports, records and documents.

18. Develop and coordinate ongoing evaluation of the library/media center program and make changes based on the results.

19. Communicate effectively with management, colleagues, students, and parents.

20. Checking books inside and outside the library

21. Explain the use of library facilities, resources, equipment, and services, and provide information about library policies.

22. Review and evaluate resource materials, such as book reviews and catalogs, to select and order print, audio-visual, and electronic resources.

23. Coding, classifying, and archiving books, publications, films, audio-visual aids, and other library materials based on subject or standard library classification systems.

24. Develop library policies and procedures

25. Evaluate materials to identify old or unused items for disposal.

26. Developing information access tools

27. Assemble and arrange presentation materials.

28. Consult with teachers, parents, and community organizations to develop, plan, and implement programs in reading, viewing, and communication skills.

29. Compile lists of overdue materials, and notify borrowers that their materials are overdue.

30. Design information storage and retrieval systems, and develop procedures for collecting, organizing, interpreting, and classifying information.

31. Develop and index databases that provide information to library users.

Perform public relations work for the library, such as providing book reviews and speaking in the community.
