Job Description
This role requires management of a variety of transportation planning and modeling studies, large strategic transportation plans, and traffic management plan assessments for multidisciplinary planning projects.
An understanding of modern transportation model development, modeling principles and best practices, transportation planning, development/access planning, public transportation issues, transit-oriented development, transportation demand theory, parking policies, planning regulations, and other urban planning policies and methods.
Familiar with the RTA transportation model.
Able to present transportation modeling and planning projects and interpret studies to an experienced audience.
A practical understanding of the role and importance of transportation modeling and planning in achieving development, city-wide mobility, and meeting people’s needs.
Good customer service skills are essential.
Experience in providing appropriate analysis of roundabouts to assist traffic impact assessments.
Contribute to the preparation of transport model user guides, technical notes and reports.
Contribute to the preparation of transportation planning reports including analysis of current conditions, trip generation, roundabout analysis, and parking assessment for projects undertaken by the department.
Project management experience and familiarity with local trends, transportation modeling and planning practices and standards.
Proficiency in programming software such as Python or VB is an advantage.

Strong knowledge of transportation modeling and traffic engineering software with experience in using strategic transportation models built on software platforms such as PTV Vision (VISUM & VISSIM
