Job Description
Laser Technicians assist the Dermatologist in laser treatments for a variety of skin care applications. The responsibilities of a Laser Technician include evaluating the skin care concerns of clients, conferring with the Dermatologist to develop the best treatment plan, and applying the laser treatment.

Experience in cosmetic dermatology and laser treatments
Diploma in Laser Technology is required
BSc Nursing is preferred from an accredited institution or equivalent as per Oman Ministry of Health guidelines
Additional diploma or training in skincare treatments or cosmetology is an advantage
Completion of a certified laser training course (minimum 5 to 7 days or 40 hours)
Minimum of 5 years of continuous experience as a Laser Technician in dermatology or cosmetic aesthetic dermatology settings
High attention to detail in performing skin assessments and accurately documenting patient medical history and test results
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
Fluency in Arabic is an advantage
Excellent knowledge of lasers, their physical characteristics, energy sources, types of energy light, and their use in aesthetic practice (e.g. hair removal, skin rejuvenation and tightening, treatment of hyperpigmentation)
Ability to analyze skin, determine skin type, and identify skin conditions
Knowledge of contraindications, potential side effects, and how to prevent unwanted reactions
Knowledge in skin care, sun protection, and pre- and post-procedure skin care
Ability to confer with clients regarding medical history, sensitivities, or allergies to determine a safe and effective course of action
Familiarity with emergency response actions in situations such as anaphylaxis or shock, and the ability to assist the doctor in cardiopulmonary resuscitation if needed
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a high degree of empathy
Quick learner, enthusiastic, and willing to work collaboratively in a team setting.
