Job Description

Main Purpose:

To manage customer enquiries and projects.

Provide crane/mechanical handling operation and maintenance technical advice and support to internal and external stakeholders

To manage, provide technical support and mentor Project Engineer’s and Junior Project Engineer’s.

Main Responsibilities:

TECHNICAL

a) Schedule and mobilise personnel, materials and equipment associated with project activities

b) Ensure all materials, spares and equipment are specified, purchased, rented, stored and issued in accordance with project requirements

c) Focal point contact for Field Service Supervisor / Field Service Focal Point / Team to complete and record maintenance and repair activities in accordance with work schedules

d) Be a focal point for handling technical queries, and review any proposed modifications or changes that may arise

e) Carry out Site visits as required to ensure site work is being performed as requested

f) Contribute to Engineering & Operations meetings.

g) Perform SOFI / HSE Incident reporting for any service delivery matters associated with projects

PROJECT ENGINEERING & ADMINISTRATION

a) Preparation of CTR’s and quotations

b) Maintain enquiry and project records information in in accordance with API Q2 requirements

c) Liaison with customers

d) Liaison with subcontractors

e) Preparation of work procedures / workpacks

f) Creation of purchase requisitions / orders

g) Arrange equipment dispatch and transportation

h) Financial control of project costs

i) Compilation of close-out reports

j) Preparation of draft invoice

BUSINESS PROMOTION

a) Contribute to the sales effort, through direct customer contact and meetings

b) Duties encompass the assistance with compilation and cost control, in conjunction with the Finance Group & Engineering & Operations Manager

c) Identify areas for business development

d) Undertake performance reviews with subordinates

e) Undertake performance reviews with line manager

DEVELOPMENT

The role requires a pro-active approach to mentoring assigned Graduate and Project Engineers, with respect to the following aspects:

a) Job and enquiry set-up and control

b) Project administration & project reviews

Desired Candidate Profile

Any Nationality

Bachelor of Technology/Engineering(Electrical, Mechanical)

Male

The successful candidate will have as a minimum:

a) Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 5 years’ experience

b) Experience in Hydraulic Engineering.

c) Previous experience working within the Oil & Gas / Energy Industries

d) Offshore crane enquiry and project experience

e) Mechanical handling equipment knowledge

The following is also desirable:

A) Previous experience in a Project Engineering role

B) Qatar driving License preferred
