Job Description

CCR Operator shall come in Shift and Report to the Shift In charge in the CCR.
Get Familiar with the Process diagrams, P&IDs and compare / cross check with the DCS operation mimics / graphic panels. Notify corrections if any.
Responsible for operating Main Plant & Auxiliary systems using DCS Panel and Control Room MIMIC Panels.
Regularly monitoring the operation parameters / status of the units / equipment’s / process and writing the shift log reports. Monitoring of Boiler, Turbine, Generator, BOP, Electrical Systems etc. Close observation of parameters and respond to deviations.
Regularly acknowledge the alarms in the DCS and the Hardwired panels and act / ensure the operating parameters are within the operational limits set as per the standard operating procedures.
Cold Start up, Warm start up, Hot Start-up, Normal Operation, Emergency Handling and Safe shut down of Units.
Get familiar with the locations of the equipment’s / systems at field / site.
Study the Alarm & Trip list document and compare the same with manufacturer manuals and verify the setpoints conformity. Notify corrections if any.
Prepare the shift operation check list for Startup, Normal Shutdown and Shift Handover / Takeover.
Regularly filling the shift operation checklist during shift operations.
Prepare the Standard operating procedures incorporating the operation instructions of equipment manufacturer.
Acquire thorough knowledge of the standard operating procedures, normal operating parameters given by the equipment manufacturers, startup and shutdown curves of the operating plant.
Experienced in shift operations and independently handling different types of Boilers / Turbine / Generators and its auxiliaries.
Understand the P&IDs, Heat balance diagrams, startup and shutdown curves, of Boiler, Turbine and Unit.
Understand DCS operation mimics, alarms, trends, operational windows, SOEs etc..
Understand the DCS logics and DCS control diagrams and also familiar to change the operational settings in the DCS systems.
Must know the procedures for starting, stopping, controlling and isolating plant equipment during emergencies and for repairs.
Shift operations must comply with personnel safety and equipment safety.
Must have knowledge in grid related synchronisation requirements of the units and its related electrical systems.
