Fire Protection Engineer

Job Description

Design and develop fire protection systems, including sprinklers, alarms, and smoke control systems, ensuring compliance with local and national codes.
Evaluate and analyze building plans and specifications to ensure optimal fire protection measures are integrated from the outset.
Perform hydraulic calculations to determine the appropriate water supply and pressure for fire suppression systems.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to integrate fire protection features seamlessly into building designs.
Stay current with evolving fire safety regulations and technologies to provide the best possible solutions to clients.
Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for fire protection designs, inspections, and assessments for regulatory submission.

Any

Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is essential.
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred, showcasing commitment and expertise in fire safety.
Familiarity with NFPA codes and standards, demonstrating an understanding of industry best practices.
Proficiency in fire modeling software and hydraulic calculation tools to ensure accurate designs.
Strong analytical skills to assess fire risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
Detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high accuracy.
Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, fostering a cooperative work environment.
5-10 years of relevant work experience in fire protection design or consulting within construction or engineering sectors.
