Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Hot Wire CNC Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain Hot Wire CNC machines (e.g., 2D and 3D hot wire machines), including loading and adjusting drawings, converting drawings to machine-compatible software, managing/loading Styrofoam materials, and executing production cycles to meet precise specifications.
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to ensure accurate machining and compliance with specifications, and create bills of material to support production planning.
Machine Monitoring: Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed to maintain tolerances.
Quality Assurance: Monitor machining processes in real-time and inspect finished parts using precision tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure compliance with blueprints, tolerances, and GD&T standards. Report and address deviations or defects.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct routine preventive maintenance (e.g., lubrication, cleaning) and diagnose operational issues to minimize downtime.
Process Improvement: Implement lean manufacturing principles and conduct root cause analysis to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Documentation: Maintain accurate production logs, including cycle times, part counts, and maintenance records. Create work instructions to support operational consistency.
Team Collaboration: Provide technical-related support for equipment planning and maintenance, coach operations staff, and support new product introductions.
Safety and Workspace Management: Adhere to safety protocols specific to Hot Wire CNC operations, including handling hot wire cutting hazards, and maintain a clean, organized work area.
