Laboratory General Manager

Job Description

Participates in forming the annual operational budget for the Lab for approval from the higher managment.

•Oversees the execution of the approved annual budget and the achievement of the budget’s targets.

•Oversees the daily operations, and works towards increasing efficiency and quality of the operation.

•Expands the Lab’s customer base, and builds up it’s reputation.

•Strives to attract and retain high caliber customers,and attracts high value contracts.

•Works in close cooperation with the QA/QC manager to maintain and improve the high quality standards of the Lab.

•Works in expanding the Lab’s scope of work, and oversees the accreditation of the scope expansion.

•Maintains a strict credit policy, and follows up the progress of the collection of the outstanding amounts.

•Undersigns all geotechnical test reports, and assumes responsibility for their content.

•Evaluates the performance of the Lab’e employees, and helps increase their performance in all aspects of the work.

•Ensures the impartiality of the Lab and all its employees, and the confidentiality of all test results.

•Approves all sales quotations, signs sales agreements, and approves purchases.

•Reviews the work process and recomends adjustments to improve efficiency and quality.

•Keeps up to date with all existing and upcoming rules and regulations affecting the Lab’s operation

Desired Candidate Profile

Indian, Pakistani, Sudanese

Bachelor of Technology/Engineering(Civil, material)

Male

•Materials Engineer / Geologist / Civil Engineer

•Minimun 5 years experience in same or similar position

•Bilingual, Arabic and English

•The Lab GM is well versed in ISO 17025 regulated operations.

• Has the ability to plan the execution of big contracts.

• Can communicate effectively with all stakeholders, and negotiate with customers to gain new business.

• Can manage a diverse and multinational team of employees
