Mainframe DB2 Engineer/Infrastructure

Job Description

Upgrade and migrate DB2 versions.
Apply PTFS/APARS regularly.
Manage DB2 ISV products and system catalogs.
Assist to optimize application data and database environments.
Use offline utilities (e.g., DSNJLOGF, DSNJU004).
Ensure database security by managing user IDs and privileges.
Administer DB2 on z/OS, including SQL creation and performance tuning.
Define physical databases (DDL) and understand logical design.
Implement DB2 software installs, upgrades, and security compliance.
Monitor threads, table spaces, and index spaces.
Handle event resolution and escalations.
Perform database and SQL performance tuning.
Recycle DB2 and create image copies.
Create databases and manage authorities.
Support disaster recovery as per client requirements.
Build and maintain databases and related objects.
Use online utilities (e.g., CHECKDATA, COPY, REORG).
