Job Description

Job Purpose:
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for overseeing, maintaining and ensuring the proper functioning of all mechanical systems, including well pumps, pumping stations, piping networks, and valves. The role involves troubleshooting faults, supervising repair activities, and coordinating installation of new mechanical equipment to ensure efficient and reliable operations in line with project specifications and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and perform preventive and corrective maintenance for mechanical systems (pumps, piping, valves, etc.).
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and failures in pumping stations, well pumps, and related systems.
Plan and oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of new mechanical equipment.
Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with safety and quality standards.
Review technical documents, drawings, and BOQs related to mechanical works.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records of performed work.
Coordinate with electrical, civil, and control teams to ensure seamless system operation.
Prepare technical reports, inspection notes, and recommendations for system improvements.
Support energy efficiency and asset reliability initiatives.
Supervise subcontractors and ensure adherence to project timelines and specifications.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical EngineeringBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized university.
Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in facilities management, water systems, or pumping stations.
Valid driving license (mandatory).
Strong knowledge of pumps, piping networks, valves, and related mechanical systems.
Proficient in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair methodologies.
Good communication and reporting skills.
