Job Description

Esimation engineer with mechanical back ground must have shutdown and turn around experience

Consult with vendors and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues to ensure all is in accordance to STS policies.

Analyze blueprints, construction drawings and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates to ensure estimation (expense) of the work done.

Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and marking BOQ to identify items whose enquiries has been sent out, together with specifications, preliminary elements and appropriate drawings & monitor BOQ enquiry process and dates for quote returns.

Review Bill of Quantities (BOQ) to identify any missing item or document and inform clients as well as consultants of the required changes to be made.

Liaise with engineers, designers, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.

Assist others in selection of materials and sub-contractors when required to do so and propose alternative materials or methods.

Fill up & review the relevant documents of tender (only for EPC projects) before sending it to the Tender Board/Client ensuring it is in compliance to STS Quality, Health, Safety and Environment.

Review histogram & equipment schedule to get discount on materials by negotiating with the units and getting approvals from the respective business units.

Request for a site visit to record information about access, drainage and topography and availability of services such as water and electricity and will formulate people from BD (Business Development) to visit that site and prepare a report on it.

Assess individual rates and prices, amend, create new or insert from material and subcontract quotes.

Complete tender documentation for submission by the due date and circulate among all the people involved in the tender and price accordingly.

Take responsibility for ensuring tender is delivered to the appropriate place on time.

Perform additional duties and take on other responsibilities as requested by the management.

Bachelor of Technology/Engineering(Mechanical)

Male

Must possess knowledge of building, material components, building regulations and estimating

Should display management skills – programming, planning, compiling reports

Should be a computer literate for record keeping/data entry and report writing especially in MS word.

Should have knowledge of contractual procedures and responsibilities

Must portray good negotiation, influencing and communication skills; should be well spoken and personable; should be able to get on with diverse personalities

Must possess strong analytical and reasoning abilities

Must possess good organisation skills and pay attention to details
