Roles & Responsibilities
The SMT Line Lead Technician oversees the setup, operation, and maintenance of SMT production lines to ensure efficient and high-quality output. This role leads line activities, troubleshoots equipment, supports operators, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and maintain SMT equipment (printers, pick-and-place, reflow ovens).
Lead and support SMT operators to meet production goals and quality standards.
Troubleshoot line issues and perform minor repairs or escalate as needed.
Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with IPC standards.
Train new staff and assist in process improvements and 5S initiatives.
Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.
Inspect PCBs using Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems, ensuring there are no defects like solder bridges, misplacements, or missing components.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
3+ years of SMT operation and troubleshooting experience.
Strong knowledge of SMT processes and IPC-A-610 standards.
Good leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Flexibility to work various shifts or overtime.
