Job Description

DIVISION / TRANSPORTATION MANAGER ROLE

A Transportation Manager plans and supervises shipments, schedules routes, tracks orders, coordinates with warehouse workers, monitors transportation costs, ensures compliance with shipping regulations, and maintains records. He also handles marketing, networking, business development, vehicle tracking, conduct safety audits, and organize training sessions for employees.

SUMMARY:

· Planning and supervising the shipments from production to the end-user

· Scheduling daily and weekly routes

· Tracking orders using functional systems (e.g. barcodes and tracking software)

DIVISION / TRANSPORTATION RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Plan and supervise the shipments from production to the end-user

2. Schedule daily and weekly routes

3. Vehicle tracking

4. Coordinate with other division to ensure proper logistic

5. Monitor and report on transportation costs

6. Ensure shipping documents are properly filed

7. Report maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment

8. Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods

9. Conduct regular safety audits on equipment

10. Organize training sessions for employees (e.g. proper use of machines and handling of hazardous material)

11. Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders

12. Ensure compliance with company policies and shipping legislation

13. Stay up-to-date with safety regulations

MBA/PG Diploma in Business Mgmt(International Business), Ph.D/Doctorate(Business Administration)

Required Qualifications

· Proven work experience as a Transportation Manager, Shipping Manager or similar role

· Solid knowledge of supply chain management

· Experience preparing and tracking orders

· Familiarity with logistics software, like Freightview and 3PLink

· Excellent organizational skills

· Ability to supervise and train staff

· Problem-solving abilities

· Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration

· BSc in Supply Chain, Logistics or relevant field is a plus
