Roles and Responsibilities
To ensure that necessary repairs to handling equipment are carried out as per the standard specifications with minimum downtime and defect resolution resulting in customer satisfaction. The technician will analyse all repairs and maintenance of BT warehouse equipment – Battery operated handling equipment to include Electric Pedestrian Truck (PPT), RT Reach Truck, Very Narrow Machines (VNA), Order Picker (OP) and Counterbalance Trucks (CBT) – General repairs on various types of forklifts in warehouses
Consistently delivers high quality work to ensure excellent levels of customer satisfaction.
Ability to read service manuals, understand electrical drawings and troubleshooting procedures.
Ability to understand and implement manufacturers standard operating instructions within specified repair times.
Able to demonstrate knowledge of components and systems including electrical and hydraulics.
Communicate with the Maintenance Manager to ensure timely availability of parts for repairs and report discrepancies to the immediate manager in a timely manner.
Ensures cost-effective use of materials and time frame available to maintain highest levels of productivity.
Keeps up to date with the latest regulations, standards and good working practices within the industry regarding handling equipment.
Ensures that the workshop or service vehicle is tidy and tool boxes are kept to required standards.
Follows safety procedures to work safely for himself and his colleagues.

2-5 years experience in handling machines
English (reading, writing, and speaking)
Warehouse experience
